LEANME COACHING PROGRAM

There is an overabundance of conflicting information on the topic of nutrition and a lack of accountability to change lifestyle habits. CrossFit Reclaim’s LeanMe Coaching Program will take the guess work out of eating for health, performance, and body composition goals. Learn the basics of tracking your food and using tracking apps and what your body needs in order to feel and perform at its best. Learn about yourself and your tendencies with food – emotions, triggers, cravings, etc. Develop a positive relationship with food and experience first hand the importance of consistency to see the best possible results.

12-Week Intensive Mentorship Program

How do I register to join the program?
The LeanMe Coaching Program requires me to track my macros, sleep and exercise. What do they mean and why are they monitored?
  • Macros is a shortened term for Macronutrients. Macros consist of Carbohydrates, Protein and Fat. Everyday, there is an allotted amount of calories per gram of carbohydrates, protein and fat. We measure your intake of these Macros, to manipulate your overall calorie needs as well as your hormonal profile in your body. 
  • Sleep is extremely important for hormonal balance in the body. We track your sleep data as this may impact your hormones and thus your weight loss/gain. Sleep tracking can be monitored through the use of a smart watch – such as a garmin, FitBit or Apple watch – to capture your REM and deep sleep levels each night. If you don’t have access to a smart watch, we’ll simply track the number of hours you sleep each night. 
  • We want to know how active you are, we provide a sample program as part of the program but if you’re unable to find time to exercise we may simply track your steps using a pedometer. 
Am I provided guidance on what to eat and when?
  • Yes and no. We will provide you with sample meal plans and recipes as an overarching program. From here we will review your scan results and tailor your macronutrient intake based on your goals – i.e. specific pre/post workout nutrition for someone looking to increase muscle vs lose body fat. This protocol will differentiate from person to person based on what they want to achieve.
  • Of course you can follow our plan to a tee, but we don’t enforce it. We will provide you with guidance on what best suits your needs and it is up to you on what works best. We want you to have flexibility around your day so you do not get bored.
How do I track my macros?

If you’re completely new, we’ll give you a tutorial on how to track your food intake using the MyFitnessPal app. You’ll need a food scale which costs around $15-$40, then a basic (Free) MyFitnessPal account.

The MyFitnessPal app can be downloaded on your smartphone. If you’re technophobic and are worried about using an app, we’ll give you a lesson on how to use the app and support you through any questions you have. You will soon adapt to using the technology and become proficient in its use.

Who is the LeanMe Coaching Program for?

The LeanMe Coaching Program is for people who want accountability towards achieving their ideal body composition. You’ll learn heaps in the process but it is not the primary reason why our program is so successful. Being held accountable to a plan, is the key to achieving your goals of being lean and healthy and this program is perfect for this reason.

Does the program cater for people who have “special” diets?

Unfortunately, we don’t accommodate for “special” diets. If your – Gluten intolerant, Vegetarian, Vegan, Pescatarian, Celiac, Un-Managed Diabetic, Fructose Intolerant, Lactose Intolerant etc. – you are more than welcome to adjust our sample meal plans and recipes accordingly but we recommend you work one-on-one with a Registered Practicing Dietician.

Will I receive custom meal plans designed specifically for me?

We don’t like providing “custom” meal plans. Why? Because everyone has different tastes and food habits. Designing a tailored meal plan would take an extensive period of time to develop and would significantly increase the cost of the program. In our experience, we have found people abandon these “custom” meal plans after the first couple of weeks anyway. So instead, we’ll provide you with a sample meal plan, a catalog of recipes and shopping lists to make things easier with your planning and organising. This is to give you a general idea of what your diet should look like and from here we will tailor your calories and macros based on your goals.

While undertaking the LeanMe Coaching Program, what am I expected to do from my Coach?

We’ll provide you with a LeanMe Coaching Booklet, this booklet has allocated spaces to track your nutrition, sleep and exercise habits. You’ll be required to bring this into the LeanMe sessions every second week.

Everyone is also required to undertake a before and after photo. This is a good way to track your progress and help you see your results. Don’t worry, we will not share your photo for any reason without your written permission.

What are the requirements for the before and after photo?

Each person is to be standing in their swimmers with their full body in the frame of the photo. Photo angles required – Front view, side view and back photos. Preferably, the photos are taken in the same spot under the same conditions (light & time of day etc).

Is there an age limit for joining?

The youngest age we will take is 13. If a minor is participating in the program we ask for their parent/ guardian to join them in the same intake and complete the program alongside them.

There is no ceiling for age, as long as you have medical clearance from your doctor, we are more than happy to support your health goals.

Can I choose to work 1on1 with a Coach instead of joining a group?

At this stage we are only offering the LeanMe Coaching Program, as a group.

Am I required to exercise as part of the program?

No, but we will track your overall activity levels using a pedometer which you must supply as part of joining. We highly encourage physical activity for the overall health benefits.

What’s specifically involved in the initial 1on1 LeanMe Consult?

The initial 1on1 LeanMe consult is about setting you up for success. We’re going to:

  • Complete a body scan and measure your starting body fat %, muscle mass and visceral fat.
  • Discuss your onboarding survey, specifically your answers regarding your current exercise, sleep and nutrition habits. We’re going to confirm your level of commitment over the length of the program.
  • We’re going to set your 12-week goals based on your level of commitment discussed and provide you with a nutrition prescription along with sample meal plans, recipes, shopping list and exercise program (if applicable).
  • We’re going to take a before photo (if you haven’t already supplied one) to use to compare your results against your body composition goal.
  • Lastly, we’re going to provide you with a referral to your GP. In the case where you would like to have blood work completed, this referral includes a hormonal assessment and inflammation assessment.

After the 1on1 you’ll be well informed, have a plan and know exactly what’s expected of you to achieve your goal.

What’s included in the weekly correspondance with my Coach?

You’re Coach will log in remotely to your MyFitnessPal account and check your food diaries to double check you are on track. They will also call you to check in on your progress. These check-ins happen in the off weeks where your not coming in to get scanned. Some calls are quick check-ins, others may be longer to address any questions you have. The main objective is to keep you accountable to the plan we agree upon, your Coach is invested in your success.
